The Jackson Chorale welcomes new members at any time during the season. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Jackson Symphony Orchestra Hall (215 W. Michigan Avenue in downtown Jackson). Rehearsals are held September through May.
We also have formed a small, select Chamber Singers group that will perform more intimate, yet more challenging, pieces than are typically performed by the Chorale as a whole.
The Chorale is open to anyone who meets the requirements of good choral singing, at the discretion of the Musical Director. There is a vocal interview required of all singers, but this is an informal activity to assess vocal skills, range, etc. It is not a formal, prepared audition, so please don't be intimidated! The Chorale has a wide variety of very friendly members, of a wide range of ages as well as vocal and professional backgrounds, so you are sure to find a few new friends amongst its members. We currently have more than 40 members, ranging from newcomers to those who have participated for more than 20 years, but we are always looking for new singers who love great music to add to our numbers.
